Some useful tips to help you prepare for your interview
Tips/TechniquesCommon competencies
Many organisations around the world ask for similar competencies in their employees, and it is no different in this part of the world.
Not only are the competencies universal, but every candidate has enough time before an interview to prepare answers, case notes, descriptions or references that illustrate each of these competencies. An interviewer will either want you to demonstrate these competencies through tests, or will assess them during the course of the interview itself.
Being assertive is different from being aggressive, and even if you are confident about your competencies, remember to present them politely. And almost always, there is no such thing as the perfect candidate for the perfect job. Most interviewers will settle for a candidate who has at least 50 to 70 percent of the skills and experience required for the job, and a high ranking on their inherent competencies; they are willing to train and develop a candidate once on board.
So what are these competencies that interviewers look for, what candidates must possess?
